Watching a gazebo being assembled does not establish its roof-load capacity. This guide uses the Arcadia 12×9.5 manufacturer documents; it does not report a controlled load test or measured storm performance.
Use the exact rating
The current Arcadia listing states tested roof-load performance up to 5,800 pounds and wind performance up to 100 mph, subject to its anchoring instructions. These are manufacturer claims for the stated model and conditions, not a site-specific engineering approval.
Know the actual roof system
The 2306073B manual shows the supplied framing and metal roof components. Generic advice to add plywood sheathing under shingles does not describe this kit. The product page identifies cedar without establishing a western-red-cedar species claim.
Inspect condition without testing the structure yourself
- Check for damaged or displaced panels and connections when conditions are safe.
- Record new movement, visible deterioration and changes at the supports.
- Have suspected structural damage assessed before continued use.
- Use the manufacturer’s instructions for maintenance and replacement parts.
Avoid arbitrary snow limits and added reinforcement
Snow weight varies with its condition, so a guessed six-inch threshold is not a verified operating rule. Ask the manufacturer and a qualified local professional about site requirements and safe snow management. Do not climb onto or deliberately load the roof to “test” it.
